Marto Scottish Sword Claymore Gold and Silver

The Marto Scottish Claymore Sword, model M751, is meticulously crafted by hand in Toledo, Spain. The hilt is constructed of burnished cast metal with intricate decorations in gold and silver plated metal. The spherical pommel, also cast in metal, complements the design. The elongated handgrip is made of wood for comfortable handling.

This impressive sword measures 57 inches in length and features a double-edged blade forged from the finest tempered stainless steel. The upper part of the blade is adorned with exquisite 24K gold engravings. Thanks to its high-quality materials and craftsmanship, the blade is resistant to rust and requires minimal maintenance.

The Scottish Claymore Sword, known as the weapon of choice for Highland warriors from the late Middle Ages to the 17th century, earned its Gaelic name "Claideah-more" which means great sword. King Jacob I of Scotland, crowned in 1424, famously wielded the Claymore, contributing to its symbolism of Scottish pride. This formidable two-handed broadsword was utilized in clan conflicts and battles against the English, even during the Rebellion of 1745.

Jacob I, known as the "Lion of Scotland," ruled with strength and courage, instituting codified laws and systems of measurement. Despite his assassination by Sir Robert Graham, he left a lasting legacy in Scottish history.
