Korsoygaden Viking Sword – New Model
The blade is forged from C60 high carbon steel, equivalent to 1060 steel, and tempered to a hardness of 48–52 HRC for strength and resilience. It comes unsharpened for safe reenactment or display use. The brass guard and pommel provide historical authenticity and the grip is wrapped tightly over a wooden core for a secure hold.
This new model includes an improved scabbard—wood-core, leather-wrapped, and bound with cord. A wooden suspension loop allows you to easily wear it with a belt, the traditional way. From tip to pommel, this piece is built to impress and ready to become a standout in your Viking collection.
This sword is modeled after a historical find from Korsoygaden, Norway, and dates to the early 12th century. It represents the transitional phase between the Viking swords of earlier centuries and the knightly swords of the high medieval period. Swords like this were carried by Norse warriors as their seafaring raids transitioned into the establishment of Norse kingdoms throughout Europe.
