15th Century Battle of Nicopolis Longsword
Price:
$179.95
A typical 15th century sword, the Battle of Nicopolis Longsword is a capable and hard-hitting long sword with a blade hand forged from C60 high carbon steel – a steel with properties similar to 1060 high carbon steel. The dual-fullers of the blade aid in lightening it by removing unneeded weight and the termination of these fullers and the transition to a diamond cross-section closer to the tip aids in giving the blade rigidity in this critical region of the blade for puncturing and thrusting. The guard and crossguard are crafted from resilient and tough steel and the well-contoured grip of wood is bound tightly in high quality vegetable tanned leather. A robust peen over the wheel pommel anchors the blade tang into the hilt for a solid overall construction.
The sword is matched with a wood-core scabbard which is wrapped in stitched leather of high quality to match the grip. A protective steel chape completes the scabbard.
