Medieval Broad Halberd from the early 1400's is of Swiss origin and early versions were sometimes know as the Sempach type. Our hand forged carbon steel Broad Halberd blade is attached to the hardwood shaft with a socket at the top. The Broad Halberd includes langets which are narrow metal strips that protect the head of the polearm from being cut off the shaft.
