Although not displayed in conjunction with the helms at the Royal Armoury at Leeds and the Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh, it is present on almost all of the grave effigies. The Bascinet with chain Mail worn under the Great Helm made for superior head protection and could be worn alone for foot combat. Adjustable liner.
