Arming Doublet Set Ref: TT-004
The Arming Doublet or Gambeson is worn underneath chain mail or Armour to help protect the body from the impact of weapons while providing some degree of comfort to the wearer.
Our Arming Doublet / Gambeson Set, is made from a cotton shell with fiber fill, and is designed to make the wearing of mail or plate Armour reasonably comfortable while providing freedom of movement. The Gambeson set includes a matching Arming Cap, essential to the wearing of a chain mail coif. Fits chest size 36" to 48". Custom sizes are available at an additional cost of $20.
The padding in the chest and back of the regular arming doublet is twice as thick as in the arms.
We have added an Extra padding option to meet the requirements for most live steel groups, which need the extra protection. The optional padding is twice as thick as our Regular doublet.
